Top Notch mountain team
Kibo was recommended to us by our Safari company and I cannot thank them enough. From our pre climb briefing to our final drop off at our hotel I was blown away by the team that took my friend and I to the summit and back.Justin was our lead guide and I felt like we were in good hands from the beginning. Communication would be constant with how we were feeling, water, pace, headaches if we were experiencing them, breathing and pulse ox check ins. We chose the Lemosho route since it had the largest success rate due to the level of acclimatization we would get by hiking high, camping low. Benjamin was our assistant guide and was wonderful as well.Our climb was an amazing experience and the porters we worked with were sweet and kind and happy to greet us each day upon completion of our daily hike. The level that they move and work was so impressive. We would be on hike already, and they would have camp broken down and pass us after maybe 30 minutes. Camp was always ready when we got to each stop for the day. The food was amazing and each day was tailored to where we were on the mountain. Eliud is a great chef and also made me a cake on my birthday at 15000 elevation with no oven..On Summit day Justin, Benjamin, Nelson and Baraka helped us complete our goal to Uhuru peak. Benjamin ended up carrying my bag for me and was so much help to get me up the mountain. This entire crew is top notch and I feel like I gained a new family :). Mt. Kilimanjaro
I've been wanting to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for several years now and finally had the opportunity. I used Kibo Expeditions. They by far exceeded my expectations. I did research about the climb but still felt nervous about how my body would react to the altitude. The guides were very attentive to this and checked our levels twice daily. They made sure we stayed together (group of 12) and noticed immediately if someone was having difficulty keeping up. It was great to see that camp was always set up prior to us reaching it. The porters were amazing, hiking up our bags and other equipment and still setting up camp before we reached camp. They would also meet us on the trail at the end of the day and take our day pack from us. I really thought that was great and really appreciated it. The food was amazing. I'm so impressed with how they can cook that well on the mountain. There was always an abundance of food for everyone and no one ever left the table hungry. If you are considering hiking Kilimanjaro, definitely use Kibo Expeditions. The guides are attentive, kept morale high during the long hikes, and overall a great bunch of people. Amazing experience
Our group used Kibo Expeditions for two amazing adventures in Tanzania: hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro and on safari in the Serengeti. Both adventures were managed by Kibo and we were thrilled with the level of professionalism, knowledge and friendliness we experienced. Kilimanjaro: Our group of 12 successfully navigated the Mountain and was led by our experienced guides (Ernest and Justin) who ensured we safely climbed and descended the mountain over our 8 day journey. They kept us on track, answered our many questions and made sure that we successfully acclimatized to the altitude. The many porters and support workers who helped on our trek ensured that we had delicious food and accommodations as well as teaching us several local songs. My experience hiking the Mountain with Kibo will be something that I never forget.Safari: Kibo also organized our safari in the Serengeti for 20 people. Our three tour guides (Chaz, Allan and Norbert) were extremely knowledgable and friendly and made sure that we were able to see all of the animals that we hoped to find (elephants and leopards for our jeep). They knew all about the animals but also about the environment and could answer any question posed to them. We stayed at Kati Kati camp and I cannot tell you what a memorable experience it is sleeping (or glamping) in tents in the Serengeti while listening to the lions roar.Overall, Kibo made our experience in Tanzania one of the most memorable and happy experiences that I have (and our group) on holidays and I am thankful for their professionalism and service in ensuring a top notch vacation. Trip to Africa hiked Mt Kilimanjaro and went on 3 day safari
Kibo was incredible! Provided transportation housing. We hiked Kilimanjaro and their crew worked nonstop to accommodate us up the mountain. They carried our belongings and cooked excellent meals for us. It was so much fun! We also did a safari after the mountain and they put us in a beautiful hotel and while on safari we got to see pretty much every animal. Lions and elephants cane very close to the vehicle. Absolutlely Fantastic Kilimanjaro Trek and Safari from Kibo Expeditions Charitable Company, Ltd.
We whole-heartedly recommend Kibo Expeditions if you are planning a Kilimanjaro trek or a Safari.In October 2017, my husband, my sister, and I finished the Kilimanjaro trek and Safari trip of a lifetime with Kibo Expeditions Charitable Company Ltd., an exceptional Tanzanian tour group from Arusha, Tanzania, which excels at individualized attention and outstanding service. The 9-day Kili climb, led by master guides Edward Ernest Kutingala and Justin Kisota, exceeded every one of our highest expectations. They ensured we had success summiting Kilimanjaro’s Uhuru Peak and returning safe and sound. Throughout the 7-day trek up the mountain, Edward, Justin and their entire crew were encouraging and completely supportive in our quest for the summit. Edward and Justin planned a 2 ½ day descent for us. This unique option offered by Kibo Expeditions helped us avoid “jelly legs” during the descent.Edward and Justin were always conscious of our safety, health, and physical needs. The professionalism and experience of the Kibo Expeditions team made our group comfortable throughout the arduous hike. We had walk-in four-season tents, comfortable cots, three hot meals a day plus snacks, a porta potty and tent, which doubled as a hot shower on two days of our trek. All of these resources helped to restore our strength each day. Kibo Expeditions happily accommodated our request for a daytime summit. We believe this added to our success as it was warmer and safer in the daylight. We truly appreciated the breath-taking beauty of Kilimanjaro’s ever-changing landscapes and vistas and the Kibo Expeditions team was the perfect complement.Kibo Expeditions also planned a private 7-day safari for the three of us, which was well deserved after the Kili trek. Our guide for the safari, Emmanuel Kivuyo was nothing less than amazing. He expertly drove us throughout Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater national parks. Emmanuel took us to see everything on our list, and more. He has an amazing eagle eye, and was able to spot game so far away that we could barely see them with binoculars. Everything about the safari was absolutely marvelous, including the various lodges that Kibo found for us to enjoy.Without any doubt, we will use Kibo Expeditions again for our future trekking and safari vacations.I regret that it has taken me so long to write this review. That does not diminish the fact that we were 100% pleased with everything Kibo Expeditions Charitable Company Ltd. did in planning and effectuating our trek and safari.
